Every once in a while, something is born that is so rare, so unexpected, and so needed, it can only be described as a Unicorn—and that’s exactly what BLOOD and GOLD: Athletes, Tragedies, and Dynamism to Peace is.
From the very beginning, this book took on a life of its own. I found my publisher within minutes—a moment that felt as though the universe had conspired in perfect alignment. What followed was a journey that can only be described as divinely orchestrated and wholly unique.
When I signed with Book Writing Lane, I hadn’t written a single word yet. All I had was a burning vision to tell a story that had never been told and a purpose to call women around the world to raise their voices in the name of peace—not war.
My book didn’t fit any mold. The content was unlike anything that had passed through North American publishing. I wasn’t just telling a story about the 1972 Munich Olympics—I was revealing truths buried beneath half a century of political manipulation, media distortion, and historical silence. Because of that, it took over a month just to find editors who could begin to align with my vision.
Though I was eventually paired with editors who had deep experience with the 1970s—especially 1972—it quickly became clear that even their well-versed perspectives differed from mine. I wasn’t writing from the outside in. I was writing from a place of lived emotion, relentless research, and a moral imperative to give voice to the voiceless.
When I first spoke with Robert, I told him my book would be 10 chapters. Yet as I researched, as the facts revealed themselves, and as the silenced voices of athletes, Palestinians, and unheard survivors began to speak through me—BLOOD and GOLD expanded to 21 chapters.
Every new discovery added depth, dimension, and urgency. I was no longer writing a book. I was building a legacy of truth.
As a first-time author, I had no idea what I was stepping into. The emotional highs and crushing lows, the roadblocks, the unexpected revelations, the grief and joy—it’s been a journey that transformed me completely.
Through it all, I kept asking myself: “Has a book like this ever been published in North America?”
One that:
- Tells the full story of the 1972 Olympics, including the injustices faced by American athletes.
- Shares the Palestinian experience with empathy, humanity, and truth.
- Uncovers lies, corruption, racism, and geopolitical failures the world tried to forget.
- Dares to ask the world to stop killing in the name of peace.
- And contributes to real-world impact with proceeds going to Doctors Without Borders and Dynamism to Peace International Foundation
The answer, I believe, is no.
And that, dear reader, is why BLOOD and GOLD is a Unicorn.
It defies every expectation.
It challenges every accepted narrative.
It was written without compromise.
It breathes truth and seeks justice.
It was born of divine timing, not human design.
It is one of a kind.
And I’m honored to have been chosen to bring it into the world.
Personal Quote & Call to Action
“Some books tell history. Others change it. BLOOD and GOLD does both.”
This is not just a book—it is a call to wake up, to question, to see beyond the carefully constructed illusions of history. It is an invitation to demand truth, to challenge injustice, and to recognize that peace can only be achieved when the voices of the unheard are finally acknowledged.
I invite you to be part of this journey. Read, question, challenge, and most importantly—speak. Raise your voice. Join the movement for peace.
Because silence is complicity. And the time for silence has passed.
